The first weeks with a newborn go by in a blur of feeds, tiny yawns and very little sleep. Years later, it's the small things you'll want to remember: the curl of their fingers, the way they fit in the crook of your arm, the nursery you spent weeks getting ready. Newborn photography at home in Dubai lets you keep all of that without packing a bag or leaving the house.
I'm Zahra, a family and newborn photographer based in JVC, Dubai. My style is candid, natural and comfort-first, so your session follows your baby's rhythm, not a rigid shot list.
Why Choose an In-Home Newborn Session?
Your baby stays comfortable
No car seat, no unfamiliar room, no rushing between feeds. Your baby is in the place they already know, with their own blankets, smells and sounds. Calm babies make for peaceful photos, and a much less stressful morning for you.
You recover in your own space
Whether you had a smooth birth or a tougher one, staying home means you can sit when you need to, feed when you need to, and stay in comfortable clothes until we're ready.
The photos tell your real story
The nursery, the armchair where night feeds happen, older siblings meeting the baby, the family cat curious at the door. These details turn a set of pretty portraits into your family's story.
What Happens During the Session
Before I arrive
We'll chat on WhatsApp about your baby's age, your home, who'll be in the photos and the feel you want. I'll send a few simple tips on preparing a room and choosing outfits.
Settling in
I arrive, wash my hands and say hello quietly. I look for the room with the softest window light (in many Dubai homes, a bedroom or living area with sheer curtains is perfect) and we move a few things if needed.
Baby-led, unhurried photos
We work around feeds, nappy changes and cuddles. I photograph your baby sleeping and awake, close-up details (fingers, toes, eyelashes), and natural moments of you holding, feeding and gazing at them. I don't force poses. Safety and comfort always come first.
Family and siblings
Parents and siblings join for relaxed, connected images: a toddler giving a gentle kiss, dad's hand next to a tiny foot, everyone cuddled on the bed.
How to Prepare Your Home
- Pick one room with good window light and clear the clutter from that corner. Natural light makes skin look soft and true to life.
- Keep the room warm. Babies love warmth, so a slightly warmer room helps them settle.
- Choose simple outfits for parents and siblings in soft neutrals: cream, beige, soft grey, muted blue or sage. Avoid big logos.
- Have a feed ready around the time I arrive, so baby starts the session full and sleepy.
- Lay out a few meaningful items: a blanket from grandma, a special toy, the outfit you brought them home in.
What a Relaxed Session Feels Like
Parents often worry their baby will cry, or that the house isn't "photo ready." Honestly, neither matters. Crying babies get cuddled, feeds happen whenever they're needed, and I only photograph the corners we've tidied. There's no pressure to get everything done quickly. Most families tell me afterwards that it felt more like a friend visiting than a photoshoot, and that calm shows in the photos.
When to Book
Most parents book while still pregnant and confirm the date once baby arrives. Newborn sessions usually work well in the first couple of weeks, but older babies photograph beautifully too, just more awake and curious. If you're also planning a bump session, many parents pair it with a maternity photoshoot in Dubai.
- Prefer photos in the very first hours? I also offer hospital newborn photography in Dubai for your baby's first 48 hours.
