Late pregnancy is beautiful, and also tiring. Swollen feet, Dubai heat and a growing bump don't always mix well with a long drive to a desert location. An in-home maternity photoshoot in Dubai gives you gorgeous, emotional pregnancy photos in the place you feel most relaxed: your own home.

I'm Zahra, a maternity and family photographer based in JVC, Dubai. My approach is calm and comfort-first. No stiff poses, no rush, just you, your bump and the people you love.

Why Choose a Maternity Session at Home?

Comfort comes first

You can sit down whenever you need to, keep a glass of water close, put your feet up between setups and change outfits in your own bedroom. When you're comfortable, it shows in your face.

Privacy for intimate images

Some of the most beautiful maternity images are quiet and personal: a partner's hands on your bump, soft fabric draped in window light. Home gives you the privacy to feel at ease.

Your story, your space

The nursery you're preparing, the tiny clothes waiting in a drawer, a toddler pressing an ear to your belly. These are the details that make photos yours, and they're already at home.

No weather worries

Summer in Dubai can be intense. Indoors, we're not chasing a golden-hour window or fighting wind and sand.

When to Book Your Maternity Session

Most clients book for around the late second or early third trimester, when the bump is clearly visible but you still feel fairly comfortable moving around. Every pregnancy is different, so book early and we'll choose a date that suits you.

How I Plan an In-Home Maternity Shoot

A quick chat first

We talk on WhatsApp about who will be in the photos, how you want them to feel (soft and airy, moody and artistic, or playful with family) and which rooms have the best light.

Finding the light

On the day, I walk through your home to find the softest window light. Sheer curtains, a white bed and a clear wall are my favourite combination. Even compact apartments work beautifully.

Gentle, guided posing

I give simple, natural directions and let real moments happen between them: partners laughing, older siblings cuddling the bump, you resting a hand on your belly while looking out of the window.

Including your family

Partners, children and pets are all welcome. Some of my favourite in-home images are the messy, joyful ones with a toddler climbing onto the bed.

What to Wear

  • Fitted or flowing dresses that show the shape of your bump.
  • Soft, neutral tones such as cream, beige, blush, sage or dusty blue, which look timeless in natural light.
  • An oversized shirt or knit for relaxed, intimate shots.
  • Coordinated, not matching outfits for your partner and children.
  • Comfortable shoes, or no shoes at all. We're at home, after all.

On my packages, the 90-minute session includes 1 outfit and the 120-minute session includes up to 2 outfits, so choose the length that fits how many looks you'd like.

Little Details Worth Photographing

Before your session, gather a few meaningful things: the scan photos, a tiny first outfit, baby shoes, a letter to your baby, or a gift from family. Simple props like these add emotion without feeling staged, and they become lovely detail images alongside your portraits. If you already have children, ask them to draw something for the baby. It makes a wonderful frame.

Home, Studio or Outdoors?

Home is perfect for intimacy and comfort. If you love the idea of dunes or the beach, I also photograph outdoor and desert maternity sessions. See my maternity photoshoot in Dubai page for all options. Thinking ahead? Many parents book a newborn session at the same time.
